French restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, 45 floors above street level, supervised by Kei Kobayashi
Heritage by Kei Kobayashi is the French restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, on the hotel's 45th floor in Midtown Tower at Tokyo Midtown, Akasaka. It is supervised by Kei Kobayashi, the Nagano-raised chef who trained under Gilles Goujon and Alain Ducasse before opening Restaurant KEI in Paris in 2011. It holds one MICHELIN star in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026.
The dining room sits 45 floors above street level and is wrapped in views of the Tokyo skyline and, in the evening, the city's night sky.
The mission is in the name: the classic French repertoire, honored and handed on, reworked with a modern hand and seasonal Japanese ingredients. The MICHELIN Guide points to standards such as pate en croute, roast squab and vacherin, prepared the traditional way and given a modern arrangement. Lunch runs through the Dejeuner, Decouverte and Prestige menus. At dinner, Prestige is joined by the longer Menu Heritage, which adds lobster and cheese courses, and by Bijoux, a signature course built on ingredients chosen from across Japan, with the caviar, tableware and produce selected by Kobayashi himself.
Lunch is served Thursday to Monday from 12:00 with last seating at 13:30, and dinner from 18:00 with last seating at 20:00. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The dress code is casual elegance.
Address: The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo 45F, Tokyo Midtown, 9-7-1 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo 107-6245, Tokyo
