Kobe Beef 511 · Restaurant · Tokyo

Kiln-roasted Kobe beef of BMS 11 and above, served in private rooms beneath Dea Plaza Akasaka.
Kobe Beef 511 is a Kobe beef restaurant in Akasaka, Minato, on the basement floor of the Dea Plaza Akasaka building at 4-3-28 Akasaka. It works exclusively with Kobe beef graded BMS 11 or higher on the 12-point marbling scale, and builds its courses around steak roasted in its own high-temperature kiln.
Every table sits in a private room. The rooms carry calligraphy written for the restaurant by the calligrapher Yuna Okanishi, made-to-order tables cut from single slabs of wood and work by younger artists. Of the special rooms, Minori takes up to eight beside a wall of wine, Nagomi up to six behind iron folding screens, and Kizashi, with custom rock walls, up to ten for the kiln-baked steak course.
The kiln-baked courses move from Kobe beef poke 511 style or carpaccio and truffle-scented Akasaka soup dumplings to kiln-grilled sirloin, rib eye, or a sirloin and filet pair, and close with Kobe beef sukiyaki over a bite of rice and matcha. The longer Hitotoki course adds Kobe beef sirloin with caviar, a filet cutlet with Perigueux sauce, two kinds of Kobe beef sushi, chateaubriand from the kiln and shabu-shabu in a golden consomme.
Dinner is served from 5pm to midnight, Monday through Saturday, with last orders for courses at 10:30pm, and the restaurant closes on Sundays. Groups of ten or more book with the restaurant directly.
