Monolith · Restaurant · Tokyo

One-MICHELIN-star French cooking with a menu that changes every month, on the ground floor of Wind Shibuya.
Monolith is a French restaurant on the ground floor of the Wind Shibuya building at 2-6-1 Shibuya, about ten minutes on foot from Shibuya and Omotesando. Chef Ishii, who trained for four years in France with Georges Blanc, Jean Bardet and Bernard Robin, leads the kitchen, and the restaurant holds one MICHELIN star in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026.
The name comes from the monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey, a symbol of evolution. The restaurant is an homage to French cuisine and the cooks who built it, holding on to the basics, the classics and the history while moving forward step by step. It suits dates, birthdays and anniversaries as well as an ordinary dinner out.
Ingredients come from across Japan, and the menu changes once a month to follow short seasons. Menu Neo Monolith, the namesake course, draws on the produce and local climates the chef has inspected around the country. Menu L'Obelisque centers on classic dishes and the chef's specialties, and Menu Haute Couture is planned with each guest around favorite ingredients. Each dinner course runs from two amuse-bouches through the Monolith Egg, three hot and cold appetizers, a fish dish and a main course to two desserts.
Lunch runs from 12:00 to 15:00 with last orders at 13:30, and dinner from 18:00 to 22:30 with last orders at 20:00, every day except Monday. Guests running more than 15 minutes late should call ahead, or the table may be released.
Address: Wind Shibuya 1F, 2-6-1 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 150-0002, Tokyo
