Teppanyaki Sazanka · Restaurant · Tokyo

Teppanyaki counters on the 41st floor of The Okura Tokyo's Prestige Tower, with Kobe wagyu over the grill.
Teppanyaki Sazanka occupies the top floor of The Okura Tokyo, the 41st floor of the Prestige Tower in Toranomon. Guests sit at teppanyaki counters with the Minato skyline around them while chefs work the hot plate in front of them, finishing beef over brandy flames. The hotel opened as Hotel Okura in 1962 and was rebuilt in 2019.
The 80-seat restaurant is arranged around its grills, and five private rooms, Akane, Niji, Akatsuki, Subaru and So, take groups of four to 14. After the grill, guests can move to the lounge, done in plump cushions and warm tones matched to the deep reds of the artwork, for dessert, coffee or a digestif.
Beef anchors every set menu, from Kobe wagyu fillet or sirloin to Kuroge wagyu and the hotel's own Okura beef, cooked to order and served with grilled seasonal vegetables, garlic rice made with garlic steeped in soy sauce for a full year, miso soup and pickles. The Kobe Wagyu Menu opens with abalone, while other courses lead with Japanese spiny lobster, prawn, crab or scallop. Seafood gets equal billing, with scallops, shrimp and lobster from Tokyo Bay and beyond seared on the same plate.
Lunch runs 11:30 to 14:30 and dinner 17:30 to 21:30 every day, with last orders at 21:00, and a late dinner menu is offered from 20:00. Dress is smart casual, with no shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirts for men, or hats.
Address: The Okura Prestige Tower 41F, 2-10-4 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo 105-0001, Tokyo
