Kaiseki on the 6th floor of Palace Hotel Tokyo, named for the Wadakura moat outside its windows.
Wadakura is the Japanese restaurant on the 6th floor of Palace Hotel Tokyo in Marunouchi, named for the Wadakura moat outside its windows. It spans four areas: kaiseki in the main dining room, tempura at Tatsumi, teppanyaki at GO and sushi at Sushi Kanesaka.
The interiors are as considered as the menus. Textured walls are the work of master plasterer Naoki Kusumi, and the tatami private rooms have floors finished in naguri-style adzed woodwork. The main room seats 78, and nine fully enclosed private rooms, in Japanese and Western styles, seat from two to twelve guests.
Kaiseki is the core of the main room. The Seasonal Wadakura Kaiseki changes with the calendar, moving through dishes such as uni and sesame tofu with caviar, steamed clams in broth with matsutake, black cod from Mutsu grilled in the Wakasa style and a simmered course of Matsusaka beef sukiyaki with premium eggs. Special Kaiseki Kei sets out the season's delicacies in a more elaborate presentation, and bento and shorter kaiseki sets cover lunch.
Lunch is served daily from 11:30 to 2:30 pm, and dinner from 5:30 pm with last orders at 9 pm. Private rooms for more than eleven guests must be reserved by 5 pm the day before, and gentlemen are asked to wear collared shirts.
Address: Palace Hotel Tokyo 6F, 1-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 100-0005, Tokyo
