Toro Latin Kitchen & Bar brings chef Richard Sandoval's pan-Latin cooking to the Los Cabos Tourist Corridor at Punta Ballena, pairing interiors of contemporary art and local materials with a terrace set in a landscaped garden.
Sandoval, known for contemporary Latin cuisine across the US, Mexico and the Middle East, builds the concept around Latin flavors and local products. The kitchen folds in Peruvian and Japanese accents, a Nikkei lean that shows up across the ceviche and sushi bar and the grill.
Signatures keep regulars coming back: tuna chicharron with guacamole and a roasted tomato molcajete sauce, short rib tacos, and shrimp and crab enchiladas. The ceviche and sushi bar sends out hamachi and bluefin tuna tiraditos and an acevichado Nikkei roll, while the grill handles prime rib eye, New York strip and a slow-cooked smoked short rib.
The mood is casual-elegant, and every night a resident DJ sets the music on the garden terrace beside the cocktail bar. Toro is open daily for dinner from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
