The Modern is the two-Michelin-star dining room set inside the Museum of Modern Art, a 2,200-square-foot restaurant split between two distinct rooms. The main dining room looks out through floor-to-ceiling windows onto Abby Aldrich Rockefeller's sculpture garden, while the livelier Bar Room takes a more relaxed a la carte approach. Both sit under Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, and the cooking has drawn both Michelin and James Beard recognition.
Executive chef Thomas Allan runs a refined contemporary American kitchen with French influence.
