Nova SD is San Diego's flagship electronic music destination, spread across 19,000 square feet and three distinct zones in the Gaslamp Quarter at 454 Sixth Avenue. Insomniac rebranded it from Omnia SD in 2022 and turned it into the room that pulls the biggest names in dance music to the city.
The layout gives each zone its own angle on the night. The main floor commands the energy with a sound system and immersive LED visuals that wrap the dance space; the rooftop terrace trades pure volume for skyline views and a slightly cooler mood; a balcony sits between them. House, techno, hip-hop, and bass dominate the rotation, and residencies and guest sets have brought Deadmau5, Diplo, and RL Grime through the booth. The crowd is a mix of serious electronic fans and tourists chasing the most recognizable name in town.
VIP tables cluster in the prime sightlines. Main Floor Prime puts you on the booth directly; Terrace Level pulls back to a removed but still commanding view, with terrace configurations handling up to 8 guests and main floor tables scaling larger. The room runs Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 2 AM, occasionally extending for special events.
Dress code is strictly enforced: no sandals or flip-flops, open-toed heels allowed, no athletic shorts, jerseys, tank tops, hats, or excessively baggy clothing. Dress stylishly. Table minimums move with the calendar rather than a flat price sheet, climbing hardest around Comic-Con International in July, Del Mar racing season, and the summer Coronado stretch.
