Nova SD fills a multi-level indoor-outdoor space in the Gaslamp Quarter at 454 Sixth Avenue, steps from the San Diego Convention Center. It opened in February 2022 in the space previously known as Omnia, with an expanded main room dance floor and festival-level production, and touring DJs headline most weekends.
Each level gives the night its own angle. The main room carries the energy, with a massive concave LED screen above the DJ booth and a custom L-Acoustics sound system; a balcony room adds a second space; and the rooftop terrace trades pure volume for skyline views over the Gaslamp, with its own full bar and DJs. The music runs from house and techno to bass, and themed nights such as Reggaeton Rave and 90s-to-2000s throwback parties fill out the calendar.
VIP tables sit on multiple levels, from the main floor up to the rooftop, and a table comes with hosted entry that skips the line. Bottle presentations run to sparklers, LED signs, and confetti cannons, so birthdays and bachelor and bachelorette parties book here. The club is open Friday and Saturday with doors at 10 PM and a 2 AM close, and extra event nights are added to the calendar.
The dress code is enforced: no sandals or flip-flops (open-toed heels are fine), no tank tops, and no sportswear such as athletic shorts or jerseys, though DJ merchandise and hats are allowed.
