Esterre by Alain Ducasse · Restaurant · Tokyo

One MICHELIN star French dining room on the 6th floor of Palace Hotel Tokyo.
Esterre by Alain Ducasse is the French dining room on the 6th floor of Palace Hotel Tokyo in Marunouchi, and holds one MICHELIN star in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026. The name is the Occitan word for mother earth, from the region where Ducasse grew up, and the kitchen tells a story of land meeting sea through Japanese produce. Chef Kei Kojima, who worked alongside Ducasse for more than a decade and spent three years as sous chef at Le Louis XV in Monaco, has led the kitchen since 2023.
The room was designed by Shinichiro Ogata's studio SIMPLICITY in a palette of browns, with handmade washi paper as the main material and kept simple so the natural scenery beyond the windows carries the view. The main dining room seats 60, and three private rooms take parties of two to ten.
The menu carte leans on seasonal produce from across Japan, much of it cooked over embers: saddle of Ezo venison with braised cabbage and poivrade sauce, seared matsukawa flounder with celery and hazelnut jus, blue lobster with homardine, and Monsieur Tanaka beef from Kobe. Desserts include a rum baba made as in Monte-Carlo and an apple and juniper berry composition with pine nut cream.
Lunch is served Wednesday to Sunday with last orders at 1:30 pm, and dinner starts at 6 pm with last orders at 8 pm; the restaurant closes on Mondays and Tuesdays except public holidays. The dress code is smart elegant, gentlemen are asked to wear a jacket, and children are welcome from age 10.
Address: Palace Hotel Tokyo 6F, 1-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 100-0005, Tokyo
