Zuma Mykonos is the summer home of the contemporary Japanese restaurant Rainer Becker first opened in Knightsbridge, London, with a concept shaped by his six years working in Tokyo. It sits on the cliffside in Mykonos Town, between whitewashed villas and the Aegean, and brings a restaurant, lounge, bar, day beds and an Olympic-sized infinity pool together with sunset views.
The build nods to the island: Greek granite counters in the sushi, robata and hot kitchens, natural granite boulders, and a perimeter wall in the traditional Mykonos stacked-stone style. The main dining room is organized around the open kitchens, with the sushi counter and robata grill in full view.
The menu keeps to Zuma signatures: marinated black cod wrapped in hoba leaf, rock shrimp tempura with shiso and citrus mayonnaise, spicy beef tenderloin with sesame and sweet soy, sliced yellowtail with green chili relish and ponzu, and wagyu tartare gunkan with black truffle. Cocktails include the Zuma paloma and a chili and passion fruit margarita.
From 6 PM the pool terrace becomes a sunset bar, and later in the night DJs play beside the pool into the early hours. Dinner runs daily from 6 PM to 2 AM during the summer season, and valet parking is available for every guest.
