Flora's Field Kitchen is the restaurant at the heart of Flora Farms, a 25-acre working organic farm in the Sierra de la Laguna foothills just north of San Jose del Cabo. The place is built around a simple idea: grow the food, then cook it a few steps from where it was picked.
That principle shapes nearly everything on the plate. Vegetables and herbs are pulled straight from the fields, an on-site butcher program breaks down the meat, and the animals come from the farm's own 150-acre ranch, raised without hormones or antibiotics. Even the pantry staples are made on the property, from the breads to the ice creams and sorbets churned in house.
The menu reads the way a farm dinner should. Neapolitan flatbreads come out of the wood oven, garden salads and chilled gazpacho lean on whatever is peaking that week, and hearty mains like the farm pork chop anchor the table. At the Farm Bar, the Farmarita gets an heirloom carrot infusion and the Pelo de Perro Bloody Mary is built on heirloom tomato water.
Dining is al fresco under a full roof for shade, with live ambient music every day and the farm carrying on around you. The Michelin Guide Mexico awards it a Bib Gourmand for good quality, good value cooking. Service runs brunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday and dinner only on Monday, with dinner hours shifting slightly between the November-to-May and June-to-October seasons. Reservations are highly recommended for every seating.
