Michelin Guide Restaurants in Los Cabos (2026): The 12 We Recommend
Los Cabos has sixteen MICHELIN Guide restaurants and no two- or three-star room. We book twelve, including the region's only star and both Bib Gourmands.
Los Cabos has sixteen restaurants in the MICHELIN Guide, and the shape of that selection tells you what kind of dining region this is. One star. Two Bib Gourmands. Thirteen Selected rooms. Nothing at two stars or three. This is not a tasting-menu city the way Mexico City is, and it does not pretend to be. It is a coastline of resort kitchens, working-farm dinners and mesquite grills, and the Guide has recognized it on exactly those terms.
We book twelve of the sixteen, which includes the only starred restaurant in the region and both Bib Gourmands. Below is every one by its exact tier, what the kitchen actually does, and a direct link to each table. Last updated September 2026.
One Michelin Star

Cocina de Autor Los Cabos holds a title no other kitchen on the peninsula can claim: the region's only one-star restaurant, awarded in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Mexico and held since. It is the signature fine-dining room of Grand Velas Los Cabos, led by Dutch chef Sidney Schutte with chef Francisco Sixtos. The format is a playful eight-to-ten-course tasting menu built on fine produce, local meats and seafood, layering several taste sensations into single dishes. The evening is staged with intent: it opens with a cocktail at the Cocina de Autor bar before guests are led to the table, and Schutte's four years cooking in Asia surface in the global touches that follow.
If you are building a trip around one reservation, this is the one to anchor it to, and the one to book first.
Bib Gourmand
The Bib is the inspectors' mark for good cooking at a fair price. Los Cabos has two, and both are worth the drive off the hotel corridor.

Metate takes its name from the stone traditionally used to grind maize, and that reverence for the basics runs through everything the kitchen sends out. It sits in El Tezal, across the highway from the line of hotels and down a dirt road, and chef Abraham Tamez builds the menu on antojitos and wood-fire grilled meats. The Tacos Baja show the style: blue-corn tortillas cradling flaky white fish fried in a striking squid-ink batter, finished with pickled cabbage.

Flora's Field Kitchen is the restaurant at the heart of Flora Farms, a 25-acre working organic farm in the Sierra de la Laguna foothills north of San Jose del Cabo. The premise is simple: grow the food, then cook it a few steps from where it was picked. Vegetables and herbs come straight from the fields, an on-site butcher program breaks down the meat, and the animals come from the farm's own 150-acre ranch. Even the breads, ice creams and sorbets are made on the property.
Selected by the MICHELIN Guide
Nine of the rooms we book carry a Selected listing, which means the Guide's inspectors put them in the book without a star or a Bib attached. In Los Cabos this tier is where most of the serious cooking actually sits.

Manta is the signature oceanfront restaurant of The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, and the concept comes from Enrique Olvera, the chef behind Pujol and Cosme. Now branded Manta by Enrique Olvera, the day-to-day kitchen is led by chef de cuisine Abisai Sanchez. The cooking is contemporary Mexican shaped by Peruvian influences and a refined Japanese sensibility, built on local Baja ingredients. The name carries a double meaning: the manta ray nods to the seafood focus, while manta, Spanish for blanket, points to the comfort the kitchen chases.

Acre is an open-air restaurant and cocktail bar inside Acre Resort, a jungle property of villas, haciendas and treehouses set into the palm groves near San Jose del Cabo. The walk in, along a path flanked by towering palms and up a grand staircase, sets the tone. At the heart of the resort is a working farm growing more than 60 organic crops, with meat and seafood arriving daily from nearby suppliers. Chef David Fajardo's kitchen calls its menu globally inspired, locally sourced and seasonally served.
Al Pairo is the dining room at Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort on the Cabo Real corridor. Designed by Sordo Madaleno, the resort steps down toward the Sea of Cortez in cascading terraces, and the cooking is contemporary Mexican rooted in pre-Hispanic tradition, with corn at its heart. The Guide singles out its focus on Baja ingredients and locally caught seafood.
Arbol was the first Asian restaurant to open in Los Cabos and still stands apart from the resort-town norm. Set within Rosewood Las Ventanas al Paraiso, it serves coastal cooking with Asian and Indian influences in an intimate indoor-outdoor room lit by lanterns hung from branches. Chef Anand Singh opened the kitchen in 2018 with experience spanning India, the Maldives, the UAE and the Seychelles, and that range shows on the plate: Baja seafood alongside curries, sushi and sashimi, wagyu, and dishes finished in the tandoor, the wok or the charcoal oven.
Carbon Cabron is a wood-fired grill on the corridor side of San Jose del Cabo, billed as the great grill of Baja Sur. The whole menu turns on mesquite embers, and everything is cooked over fire. The concept comes from chef Alfonso Cadena, a Hermosillo native also behind La Leche in Puerto Vallarta and Hueso in Guadalajara. Built for sharing, the menu splits into vegetables, seafood and heavier cuts.
Comal is the oceanfront restaurant and bar at Chileno Bay Resort, spread across three levels facing the Sea of Cortez. The cooking is contemporary Mexican that travels across the country's regions with South American influences threaded through. A standout is the Octopus Kastakan, octopus tossed with crispy pork belly chicharron and cilantro.
Mezcal is the signature restaurant at Montage Los Cabos on Santa Maria Bay, added to the Guide in 2025. The cooking is built on generations-old family recipes, served indoors and on the Mezcal Patio where fire pits warm the evening. Dinner turns on shareable plates: Baja tuna aguachile, smoked kampachi over corn esquites, Sea of Cortez totoaba a la veracruzana, and suckling pig slow cooked for 36 hours.
NAO Restaurante Mediterraneo sits in the historic downtown of San Jose del Cabo, where local chef Alex Branch works a Mediterranean, Persian and Middle Eastern menu reworked with Baja ingredients. Branch is a Los Cabos veteran who started in Mexico City under chef Monica Patino and later cooked at Manta. Nearly everything arrives made in house, from the bread to the pasta.
Los Tres Gallos makes a strong case for traditional Mexican cooking done with care, on a corner of downtown Cabo San Lucas. The setting is a draw in itself: a sprawling space centered on a grand courtyard, with brick, paver-stone patios, wood furnishings and pink-and-red stucco, plus a roof terrace that opens in the evening. The menu runs to generously portioned heritage dishes such as mole con pollo, chile relleno and enchiladas.
How to plan a Los Cabos Michelin run
The region is spread out, and that matters more here than the tiers do. Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo sit roughly 20 miles apart along the Corridor, with the resort kitchens strung between them and the two farm restaurants, Acre and Flora's, inland in the foothills. Two Guide rooms in one night is comfortable only if they are on the same stretch of road.
Book the star first and build around it. Cocina de Autor runs a single seating shape and the tasting menu is the whole evening, so treat it as the fixed point. The farm dinners want daylight at the front end, which pushes them earlier than a corridor reservation. High season runs roughly November through April, and that is when the resort rooms fill up first.

Frequently asked questions
How many Michelin-starred restaurants are in Los Cabos? One. Cocina de Autor Los Cabos holds a single star, and there is no two-star or three-star restaurant anywhere in the region.
Which Los Cabos restaurants have a Bib Gourmand? Two: Metate in El Tezal and Flora's Field Kitchen north of San Jose del Cabo.
What does a Selected listing mean? A Selected restaurant, such as Manta or Arbol, appears in the MICHELIN Guide without a star, Green Star or Bib Gourmand. It is a recommendation from the inspectors, not a lesser grade of cooking.
Is Los Cabos in the same guide as Mexico City? Yes. Both sit in the MICHELIN Guide Mexico, which first published in 2024 and covers Los Cabos under Baja California Sur.
When should I book? For the star and the two farm restaurants, as far ahead as your dates allow, and earlier still for the November-to-April high season.
